Charlie Hunnam and Margot Robbie are the top picks for “The Mountain Between Us”, the Fox 2000 and Chernin Entertainment film based on the book of the same name by Charles Martin. The film would tell of two strangers who, upon having their flight cancelled, rent a small plane together. The plane crashes and the duo end up lost in the wilderness together.
Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Elle Fanning are joining Ben Affleck’s upcoming film adaptation of the best-selling novel “Live by Night”. “Live By Night uses some of the characters from Lehane’s sprawling period novel The Given Day and brings them into Prohibition. The focus is Joe Coughlin, the black-sheep son of a police captain who gets involved in escalating levels of organized crime. Miller will play Emma, a girl Coughlin falls in love with at the beginning of the story. She also happens to be the girlfriend of his mobster boss. Saldana plays Graciella Suarez, a woman he meets later as he becomes involved in organized crime in Tampa. Fanning plays Loretta Figgis, a sheriff’s daughter and aspiring actress who gets into trouble. That role had been particularly coveted by young actresses around town.”
Drew Barrymore is replacing Rachel Weisz in “Miss You Already”, the Catherine Hardwicke-directed dramedy about two friends whose relationship falls apart when one falls pregnant and the other ill. Toni Collette will play the other friend.
Shia LaBeouf, Kate Mara and Gary Oldman are set to star in the psychological thriller, “Man Down”. Dito Montiel (“A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints”, “Fighting”) will direct from a screenplay by Adam Simon. Currently in pre-production, principal photography is scheduled to start on October 30 in Louisiana.The film tells the story of a haunted Afghanistan war veteran who attempts to come to terms with his past while searching for his family in a post-apocalyptic America.
