Chabon to put the Mickey into Favreau’s Goofy Magic Kingdom project!

Michael Chabon, the Pulitzer prize-winning author whose film credits include “Spider-Man 2” and the upcoming “John Carter of Mars”, is looking at coming aboard Disney’s “Magical Kingdom” project, which Jon Favreau is set to direct .

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ron Moore (“Battlestar Galactica”) wrote a previous draft of the script (pre-Favreau) but the studio now wants another take. Favreau and Chabon have been discussing the film – based around the stately castle that sits atop of the Disneyland gardens – in previous weeks.

I’m still a little puzzled how a film based on a bit of architecture can work, you? (Update : As the commenter below kindly pointed out, the movie is actually about the whole ‘Magic Kingdom’ not just the castle; the story reportedly revolves around a family who find themselves trapped in Disneyland – all the grounds’ characters, from Dumbo to Steamboat Willie, come alive).

Is Tom Arnold telling True Lies again or is a sequel really on the cards?
