Charles Manson drama casts Chace Crawford

HUNK ALERT. “Gossip Girl” and general heartthrob Chace Crawford has joined the cast of “Charlie Says”, a film about the Manson family murders. Matt Smith is already on board to play the cult leader, Charlie Manson. Other cast include Suki Waterhouse, Hannah Murray, Marianne Rendon, Odessa Young and Carla Gugino.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Charlie Says” will focus on the three young women (played by Murray, Young and Rendon) who were sentenced to death following the infamous murder case of Manson. When the death penalty was lifted, their sentence became life imprisonment. One young graduate student, Faith (Wever), was sent in to teach them, and through her the film follows the girls’ transformations as they face the reality of their horrific crimes.

Crawford has been cast as Tex Manson, a murdering member of the Manson family who was involved in the killing of actress Sharon Tate.

The film is based on the book “The Family” by Ed Sanders, and also The Long Prison Journey of Leslie Van Houten (2001), written by Karlene Faith. Faith is being played by Rendon in “Charlie Says”.

Not sure if Sharon Tate will appear in this particular movie, but if she does… I’m sure her sister will have something to say about it.
