Clint Eastwood to direct Miracle on the Hudson biopic

In this Thursday Jan. 15, 2009 file photo, airline passengers wait to be rescued on the wings of a US Airways Airbus 320 jetliner that safely ditched in the frigid waters of the Hudson River in New York, after a flock of birds knocked out both its engines. Clint Eastwood is set to direct a biopic about Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberg, the pilot who landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River in 2009.

The film will be based on the 2009 autobiography “Highest Duty”, by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow.

“I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall,” said Sullenberger. “The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team.”

Eastwood, Frank Marshall and Allyn Stewart will produce.
