So anyway The Golden Globe Nominations have been announced. “Lost in Translation” is there, “Cold Mountain” and of course, “Lord of the Rings : Return of the King”. Sadly, it looks like Shrek has missed out for his performance in, ah, The Hulk. All those that did make the cut are listed here.

  • Andrew Fleming [“Threesome”] will write and possibly direct the romantic comedy “Her Guy Friday”, a re-imagining of “His Girl Friday”, about a macho war correspondent who is forced to take a desk job in the big city. However, he finds that working for his editor, the queen of mean, is harder than working on the front lines, and an office battle of the sexes ensues.

  • Christopher Reeve will direct a new animated film – an urban fable set in the 1930’s – for IDT Entertainment. More details here.

  • Timothy Hutton [“The Dark Half”] will star in the Sci Fi Channel miniseries “5 Days to Midnight”, playing J.T. Neumeyer, a science professor who receives information from the future detailing his murder, which is to take place in five days.

  • Javier Bardem [“Before Night Falls”] will have a small role in Michael Mann’s “Collateral” opposite Tom Cruise.

  • David Thewlis [“Naked”] is set to play a priest named Hospitaller in Ridley Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven”.

  • Jennifer Esposito [“Spin City”] and Jason Isaacs [“Peter Pan”] have joined Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillippe, Thandie Newton, Larenz Tate, Nona Gaye and rapper Ludacris in "Crash”. He plays a detective; she plays Cheadle’s love interest.

  • DMX [“Exit Wounds”] will star in “Past Tense” with Donnie Yen and “Winners”.

  • Jamie Lee Curtis will co-star with Tim Allen in the film version of “Skipping Christmas”, based on the John Grisham book.

  • Sam Bottoms has landed a role in “Winter Passing”, joining Ed Harris, Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel and Amy Madigan in the Stratus-financed drama.

  • Writers Grant Calof and Greg Lee have are doing the CGI/animation film “The Three Pigs”. The film is expected to combine computer and traditional animation.Calof and Lee are currently rewriting the comedy “Blind Sided” as a starring vehicle for Rob Schneider. That film concerns a man who regains his sight after being blind most of his life only to find out the world is a very different place from what he had imagined.

  • Harry Connick, Jr. has made a deal to star in and produce a musical for 20th Century Fox called “Ben Invention”, about an isolated man who ventures into civilization in search of love.
