Colin Farrell, last seen giving an elephant in his wings in Disney’s live-action “Dumbo” remake, is in contention to play John Constantine in a reboot of comic book property “Constantine” at Warners.
That’s according to We Got This Covered, who says the Dublin-born heartthrob is atop of the studio’s wish-list to play the sorcerer in a new incarnation of the dark superhero yarn.
The studio has ostensibly been looking to get Constantine back on the big screen for years, with Guillermo Del Toro’s now-abandoned “Justice League Dark” planning to use the sandy-haired hero at one stage. In more recent times, the character been a regular fixture on TV – with Matt Ryan playing the role on DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow”.
Keanu Reeves, who played the title character in the 2005 film, expressed interest in reprising the role for a sequel recently. With that take hardly setting the box-office on fire upon release, it’s unlikely Warner Bros will go that route.
