Cranston joins Rock of Ages as the Mayor in the Middle


Bryan Cranston is on a real roll isn’t he!? As good as he was on “Malcolm in the Middle”, it’s “Breaking Bad” that’s really turned the actor’s career around. In the past twelve months the Emmy winner has picked up quite a plum movie gigs, including the villain role in “Total Recall”. Now, according to director Adam Shankman, Cranston has snapped up a role in the all-star musical comedy “Rock of Ages”.

“So honored! Bryan Cranston is joining the cast of #rockofagesmovie! LA has a mayor!,” Shankman tweeted.

The film, the story of young lovers set to the soundtrack of an all ’80s glam-rock mix-tape, features everyone from Tom Cruise to Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Adam Shankman directs.
