Versatile James Marsden (“X-Men”, “Hop”, “Superman Returns”, “Enchanted”), always seemingly up for a challenge (c’mon, the dude shared the screen with a candy-poopin’ rabbit!) will give his funny chops a good grillin’ with a role in the already star-packed “Anchorman” sequel.
Deadline says Marsden is joining the cast of “Anchorman : The Legend Continues”, playing a competing news anchor and nemesis of Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy character.

The movie, which co-star Steve Carell told us yesterday (yeah, me and Steve are ‘like this’) begins filming in a month’s time, also stars Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, Kristina Wiig and David Koechner.
Adam McKay, helmer of the original, returns to steer the sequel – due December 20, 2013.
