Dean O’Gorman (The Hobbit : The Battle of the Five Armies”) will play the legendary Kirk Douglas in the Bryan Cranston-starring “Trumbo”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Jay Roach-directed movie tells of a screenwriter who was blacklisted in Hollywood because of his ties to the communist party.
David James Elliot (“J.A.G”) recently signed on to play another Hollywood legend, John Wayne.
The film also features Diane Lane, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Roger Bart, among others.
Douglas got Trumbo the job on classic “Spartacus”, also getting him the credit. The job lessened Hollywood’s power when it came to keeping Trumbo on the Blacklist.
