Jessica Brown-Findlay has found herself a new home on-screen; and it’s set to be nothing like Edwardian England, according to The Wrap.
Findlay rose to fame on the back of one of the UK’s most successful TV series to date – the delightful “Downton Abbey” – playing the anything-but demure Sybil Crawley, youngest daughter of the Crawley family and was one of the show’s key characters, with her daring nature and forward-thinking attitude. When Findlay decided to pursue other projects, darling Sybil was killed off during the birth of her daughter, which left many “Downton” fans shattered.
However, Findlay is now set to star alongside fellow Brits Daniel Radcliffe (”Harry Potter”, ”The Woman in Black”, ”Equus”) and James McAvoy (”X-Men: First Class”, ”X-Men: Days of Future Past”) in Paul McGuigan’s as-yet-untitled “Frankenstein” project.
The film is set to be a reimagining of the classic “Frankenstein” novel by Mary Shelley, with “Chronicle” screenwriter Max Landis developing the adaptation. Described as a tale of friendship and redemption, the film will be told from the perspective of Frankenstein’s monster Igor (Daniel Radcliffe), with McAvoy playing Victor Von Frankenstein himself. Findlay has been cast as “Lorelai”, a beautiful circus performer who forms a close bond with Igor.
