Dusk Till Dawn helmer does Lost Boys 2

The sequel starts lensing in June

Moviehole and Shock Till You Drop can confirm today the director and writer, respectively, of “The Lost Boys 2”.

The longed-for (some may say superfluous) sequel to “The Lost Boys” (1987) is prepping in Vancouver, Canada and Moviehole was informed today that P.J Pesce, a filmmaker familiar with the vampire terrain having tackled Dimension’s “From Dusk Till Dawn 3”, is attached to direct. Joel Schumacher, of course, directed the classic original.

Meanwhile, Shock Till You Drop reports that Hans Rodionoff is the film’s writer.

Pesce’s not a bad filmmaker – he also directed “Sniper 3” and “The Desperate Trail” – he’s right at home if there’s skirmish in front of the lens or if there’s some action sequences he needs to get good coverage of (he’s at his best when on a western). And the “Dusk Till Dawn” job is testament that he can handle the job.

We’re told that Corey Feldman was a part of the sequel’s cast but “that’s not on the cards anymore”. From the sounds of it, it’s an all-new set of cast and characters.

The sequel, titled “The Lost Boys: The Tribe” and expected to be released on DVD next year via Warner, will shoot thru June 11 to July 13.

Philip B.Goldfine (“The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning”) will produce the movie – one of Warner Premier’s many forthcoming straight-to-disc sequels.
