Niall Leonard, the husband of “Fifty Shades of Grey” author EL James, is set to write the screenplay for “Fifty Shades Darker”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leonard did uncredited rewrites on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” script.
This news follows rumours that James wanted to write the “Darker” screenplay herself. But hey, I guess if she can’t do it, her husband would be the next best option, right?
Of course James was notorious for being very controlling during production of the first film. So much so that director Sam Taylor-Johnson and screenwriter Kelly Marcel exited the franchise when the first installment wrapped.
