Emma Watson is Part of The Bling Ring

Hermione Emma Watson has signed on to star in an ensemble cast for Sofia Coppola’s latest film, “The Bling Ring”, the true story of a group of teenagers who commit a string of celebrity burglaries. The real life crimes took place in 2009 which included break-ins at the homes of stars including Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. (They’re considered stars?)

Coppola, who wrote and will direct the film said that she’s “excited about the young cast we’re assembling and I’m looking forward to shooting on location here in Los Angeles”.

I’m all for movies inspired by real events and whatnot, but if I didn’t care when a bunch of kids robbed celebrities in real life, what’s a movie going to do? I’m pretty sure there was some Lifetime movie based on the whole thing too.

Further casting announcements have yet to be made. Coppola will produce with brother Roman Coppola and Youree Henley. Executive producers are Fred Roos and Michael Zakin.

Watson has also been tapped to star in David Yates’ “Your Voice in My Head” for Warner Bros.
