del Toro going on a Fantastic Voyage

Guillermo del Toro is looking at bringing ’60’s science-fiction classic “Fantastic Voyage” to the big screen.

The “Crimson Peak” helmer would develop and direct a redo of the 1966 film about a team of scientists who are shrunk to the size of tacs and inserted into the body of a scientist to try and help save his life.

David Goyer, who worked with del Toro [way back when] on “Blade 2”, penned the screenplay.

James Cameron, who was onboard del Toro’s abandoned “At the Mountains of Madness”, is one of the film’s producers.

The project is housed at Twentieth Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment.
