Fisher crowned Queen

Australian actress snags comedy lead

Former Aussie Soap star Isla Fisher – whose big break internationally was her turn as Vince Vaughan’s nymphette squeeze in “Wedding Crashers” – has snagged the plum lead role in “The Cookie Queen”, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Jeremy Haft and Ed Gonzalez have Fisher attached to the comedy. She’ll also produce the film.

The story follows Claire “Cookie” Taylor (Fisher), who holds the record for all-time girl scout cookie sales. When she learns that a precocious fifth grader threatens to end her 20-year reign as cookie queen, she sets out to sabotage her.

Haft and Gonzalez, repped by Summit Talent & Literary and Nine Yards, wrote “Heckled,” a comedy set up at New Line Cinema with Vince Vaughn attached.
