Ford on Rise of Skywalker cameo, Indiana Jones 5 start date

Out promoting his turn opposite a computer-generated K-9 in family flick “Call of the Wild”, Harrison Ford was – of course – asked about his involvement in the recent “Star Wars” sequel trilogy and the upcoming fifth, and likely last, “Indiana Jones” movie.

Ford reprised Han Solo for a brief second in this past Christmas’s “The Rise of Skywalker” and though he was confused why he’d even be asked to come back – considering Han bit it at the end of “The Force Awakens” – his old “Regarding Henry” buddy JJ Abrams twisted his arm.

“When JJ asked me to do it, I said, ‘Are you kidding? I’m dead!'” Ford tells USA Today. “He said, ‘Sorta dead. You can do this.’ He hadn’t written anything at that time. But he said, ‘This is going to be great.’ So I said okay. If JJ asked you do something, you’d probably do it too. He’s a very persuasive guy.”

“It was a useful addition to the story and the continuing development of Adam Driver’s character,” Ford adds. “And the chance to do another scene with Adam [Driver] was great.”

So, was Ford a Force Ghost or was he merely a figment of Kylo Ren’s imagination?

[Don’t ask Ford that!]

“Don’t tell anyone. I’m not talking loud enough for your recorder. I have no f***ing idea what a Force ghost is.”

“And I don’t care!”

On Ellen, Ford was asked how soon we might see him back in Indiana Jones’s trousers. According to the ‘effin legend, he starts filming in two months – meaning we’ll likely see pap pics around April.

“It’s going to be fun. I am excited,” he said. “They’re great fun to make.”
