Garfield : A Tale of Two Spidey’s

In not-at-all-surprising news, Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb have agreed to return as star and director for another “Spider-Man” movie, Sony announced today.

The twosome will also likely be joined by “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Emma Stone, who is in talks to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy.

Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner wrote the script for the sequel, which begins shooting early next year.

Considering Garfield’s enthusiasm for the Spider-Man character, and Stone’s recent comments to the press about where she’d like to see the sequel go story-wise, it’s really no surprise to see the actors wanting seconds. Webb, however, is another matter; rumour had it that we quite displeased about the experience of working on the first film – namely due to incessant studio interference. Either all that was hogwash, or money talked.

“Amazing Spider-Man 2” is set for May, 2014.
