J.J. Abrams’ God Particle is the next Cloverfield film

Earlier this year it was revealed producer J.J. Abrams’ “10 Cloverfield Lane” was in fact a “spiritual sequel” to 2008’s “Cloverfield”. Now TheWrap reveals Abrams’ next project “God Particle” is the next “Cloverfield” installment.

“Not only will “Particle” be the third in a series of connected “Cloverfield” films, but Abrams and studio partner Paramount Pictures are quietly developing more movies for the shared universe”, reports the outlet.

The plan is to release a new installment each year. It will be produced by Abram’s Bad Robot banner.

Directed by Julius Onah, “God Particle” stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, John Krasinski and Elizabeth Debicki. The film centres on crewmembers aboard a space station who find themselves alone after a scientific experiment causes Earth to disappear. It will open on February 24, 2017.
