Warner Bros. and Legendary’s “Godzilla 2” has been pushed back nine months to March 22, 2019, while “Godzilla vs. Kong” has been slated to release on May 29, 2020.
Gareth Edwards directs “Godzilla 2”, which was initially slated to open on June 8, 2018.
The next film in the Universal/Legendary monster franchise due out is “Kong: Skull Island”, which opens on March 10 and stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell.
“Godzilla vs Kong” is the first film to land on the 2020 date, while “Godzilla 2” will open against Paramount’s animated feature, “Amusement Park”.
