“Muppets” helmer James Bobin – currently directing a sequel to the aforesaid 2010 hit, “The Muppets… Again!”- may stay on at Disney to helm “Alice in Wonderland 2”, the sequel to Tim Burton’s 2010 hit.
The Hollywood Reporter says Bobin is in the early stages of discussion, having not yet met with the film’s producers.
The script was written by Linda Woolverton, who also wrote the first film.
While Burton will likely have some sort of role on the sequel – probably a producer, if only because he’s obligated to take the title – there’s no word on whether the cast of the 2010 film, which included Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Crispin Glover – will be back.
