Hannibal Lecter swaps a Chianti for a Heineken

Anthony Hopkins is going to wrap his lips around a cold one – well, ideally. It would be research, too.

The “Silence of the Lambs” thesp will play Dutch businessman Alfred “Freddy” Heineken in “Kidnapping Freddy Heineken”, says THR. ‘Freddy’ is the grandchild of ”the founder of the Heineken brewery and his driver were kidnapped in 1983 and released only after a ransom of 35 million Dutch guilders was paid, the largest ransom ever paid at the time.”

Director Daniel Alredson, who helmed the final two installments of the Millennium trilogy, has snagged himself quite the supporting cast, too. Jim Sturgess, Sam Worthington, Ryan Kwanten, Dutch actor Mark van Eeuwen and Aussie Tom Cocquerel have also jumped aboard.

“Kidnapping Freddy Heineken” begins filming later this month in Belgium, before moving onto Amsterdam and New Orleans.
