Hannibal star in talks for Doctor Strange

Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal”) could be joining Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange”.

According to Variety, Mikkelsen is in early talks to play a villain, and while “no offer has been delivered, one is expected shortly”.

Cumberbatch stars as the titular Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who becomes the next Sorcerer Supreme and primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats.

Tilda Swinton is on board to play Strange’s mentor, the Ancient One. Chiwetel Ejiofor is also in the cast as Baron Mordo, Doctor Strange’s nemesis who also studied magic under the Ancient One.

Scott Derrickson is directing from a script by Jon Spaihts. Kevin Feige will produce.

Production is set to get underway late this year, with the film slated to bow on November 4, 2016.
