Harry Potter star has deathly plans for 007

Ralph Fiennes is in talks to play a villain (yes, Javier Bardem is still involved; as Bond fans know only too well, there’s usually more than one thug out there ready to challenge the MI6 agent) in the next 007 movie.

According to a source of The Daily Mail, the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” star would play a baddie that’s “of extreme complexity” and one that “only an actor of great ability and dexterity” can take on.

Fiennes, also known for his roles in “Red Dragon” and “The English Patient”, is “excited by the revolutionary approach of the upcoming film… it’s the first of a new generation of Bond films, and the ideas [Director] Sam Mendes has push the film into darker territory where the characters are modern, mature and challenging”

The 23rd James Bond film, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Judi Fench and [potentially] Javier Bardem, is due November 2012.
