Henry Cavill to play monster hunter on new TV series

Henry Cavill is skipping Superman for Sorcery.

The “Man of Steel” and “Mission : Impossible – Fallout” star is headlining the new 8-part Netflix series “The Witcher”, for directors Alik Sakharov, Charlotte Brändström and Alex Garcia Lopez. It is based on the literary series of the same name.

From showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, “The Witcher” is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
