Hunger Games prequels in the works?!

Looks like Lionsgate isn’t finished with its “Hunger Games” franchise just yet.

Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns spoke at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York on Tuesday, saying the franchise “will live on and on” (via Variety).

Burns also commented on the significance of the Hunger Games arenas in the first two films, stating that younger fans who joined the franchise for the third and fourth films missed out on that aspect of the story.

“If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas,” he said.

While Lionsgate hasn’t confirmed any more “Hunger Games” projects, these comments come following Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer comments earlier this year that the studio is “actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities” for the franchise.
