’80s icon set for Twin Peaks

Jennifer Jason Leigh, on the verge of a major comeback thanks to her showy role in Tarantino’s “Hateful Eight”, has joined the cast of Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” revival.

Though officially confirmed today, the casting was revealed via some paparazzi photos – showing Leigh and co-stars Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee at work in the Mojave Dessert – a couple of days back.

Like most of the new cast additions, there’s no information on Leigh’s role being disclosed.

Leigh is probably best known for her role in ’80s classic “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”; she’s also won accolades for her turns in “Miami Blues”, “Last Exit to Brooklyn” and “Single White Female”.

Meantime, Deadline says director David Lynch is trying to coax his “Mulholland Drive” star Naomi Watts into coming on the show.

Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty, and Amanda Seyfried help make up the constituent of new faces joining the third season of “Twin Peaks”.
