Jackie Chan joins Nut Job sequel

In addition to his recently announced role in the “LEGO Ninjago” movie, Jackie Chan will lend his voice to Open Road Films’ “The Nut Job” sequel.

Chan joins Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl and Maya Rudolph in the Cal Brunker directed sequel.

“The Nut Job 2” follows the adventures of Surly Squirrel when the evil mayor of Oakton decides to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place.

Variety says Chan will voice Mr. Feng, the highly territorial leader of a gang of city mice.

Chan has been featured in all three “Kung Fu Panda” films as well as the Cantonese and Mandarin editions of Disney’s “Mulan” and in his own animated series, “Jackie Chan Adventures.”

“The Nut Job 2” opens May 19, 2017.
