Jason Segel directing a Lego movie!?

Jason Segel, the actor who helped revive “The Muppets” movie franchise a couple of years ago, is teaming with “Iron Man 3” scribe Drew Pearce on a new “Lego Movie” spin-off. The duo will share directing and writing duties on the Warner Bros project.

Titled “Billion Brick Race”, the project is based on an original idea by Pearce that got the studio excited. While plot details are being kept under wraps, the title would suggest it’s about a wacky race of some sort.

“Lego Movie” alumni Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Dan Lin and Roy Lee are onboard to produce the film.

“Billion Brick Race” is one of several “Lego” movies in the works; the others are Charlie Bean’s “Ninjago” due 2016, “The Lego Batman Movie” in 2017 and ”The Lego Movie 2” in 2018.

Segel next appears on the other side of the camera in “The End of the Tour”, while Pearce was involved in a writing capacity on “Mission : Impossible – Ghost Protocol” and is said to be writing a new “Ghostbusters” movie for Sony.
