John Grisham’s The Racketeer goes to Fox 2000, New Regency

Fox 2000 and New Regency have picked up “The Racketeer”, a Daniel Espinosa-directed thriller based on the novel by John Grisham.

Double Feature Films’ Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher are onboard to produce, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Racketeer sees a federal judge murdered at a lakeside cabin and the contents of his safe emptied. The only man who knows the whos and whys is a former attorney serving time in federal prison who hopes to parlay that into getting revenge on the people who put him there.

The film, still without a writer, is based on a book that hit shelves in October of 2012.
