Josh Lawson to get down and dirty in Will Ferrell’s Dog Fight

Australian actor Josh Lawson has been cast in the upcoming comedy “Dog Fight”, alongside Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis.

The flick is about two rival political candidates (Ferrell and Galifianakis) trying to win a seat in the US Congress, representing their small South Carolina district, and Lawson to play Galifianakis’ brother.

Deadline says Lawson impressed so much in the table read that a role originally written for two brothers, was condensed into one.

Lawson has starred in the Australian TV drama “Sea Patrol” and sketch show “Thank God You’re Here”, and also in the ill-fated US TV show “Romantically Challenged” with Alyssa Milano. He’ll be on screen in 2012 in the Don Cheadle show “House of Lies”, and the Aussie flick “Any Questions For Ben?”.

“Dog Fight” will be out in August, 2012- and it’s directed by “Austin Powers” director Jay Roach.

I think this is such a great gig for Lawson, what do you reckon?
