Leonardo Di Caprio to play ’70s cult leader Jim Jones

“Con Air” scribe Scott Rosenberg penning MGM film

Leonardo Di Caprio will play religious cult leader Jim Jones in a new MGM-housed flick from the actor’s Appian Way shingle.

Scott Rosenberg (“Venom”) penned the script for the film, which fixes on the founder of the Peoples Temple, Indianapolis, who was responsible for a mass suicide – in which 900 lost their lives-  on November 18, 1978.

The “Titanic” star next appears in Netflix’s Adam McKay comedy “Don’t Look Up” and follows that up with the new Martin Scorsese flick “Killers of the Flower Moon” at Apple.
