Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins the Cast of A.C.O.D.

Coming off some rave reviews from January’s Sundance Film Festival for the indie drama “Smashed”, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead has found her next role.

Deadline is reporting that the “Scott Pilgrim VS the World” star has joined Adam Scott, Richard Jenkins and Jane Lynch in Stuart Zicherman’s “A.C.O.D”. (Adult Children of Divorce).

The film centers on a man (Adam Scott) who gets caught in the cross-hairs of his parents’ bitter divorce for the past 20 years. It all rears up when his brother gets engaged and the parental feud blooms anew, with the details revealed in a definitive book on children of divorce. Jenkins will play dad, whose uncompromising lifestyle and vehement distaste for his ex-wife threatens to destroy the wedding.

Winstead will play Lauren Stinger, a long-time girlfriend of Carter (Scott) and the rock in his increasingly chaotic life.

Filming is set to begin later this month.

The comedy is a script based from Zicherman and Ben Karlin. Teddy Schwarzman is producing and fully financing “A.C.O.D.” via his company Black Bear Pictures.

Aside from a release date for Smashed, which co-stars Aaron Paul and Octavia Spencer, Winstead will next be seen in this summer’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
