For Ben Stiller comedy “Tropic Thunder”
Matthew McConaughey will replace Owen Wilson in “Tropic Thunder” the Ben Stiller-starring comedy that the recently-hospitalized Wilson was recently forced to drop out of.
As suspected, the part is no more than an uncredited cameo, reports Variety. McConaughey’s cleared a week to shoot his scenes.
Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Bill Hader and Steve Coogan star in the film, which tells of a group of actors who gather on a remote island to shoot a big-budget war movie and are forced to become the soldiers they are playing. Tom Cruise was already rumoured to be doing a cameo… but no word on whether that went ahead or not.
