“Source Code” actress Michelle Monaghan is heading to war in the new indie drama ” Fort Bliss”. According to Variety, Monaghan will portray a veteran of the war in Afghanistan.
The film will follow a female soldier transferred home after a long tour in Afghanistan who struggles to relearn how to feel to rebuild her relationship with her 5-year-old son. Shooting starts in June 2012 in New Mexico with a budget of about $2 million.
Claudia Myers (2006’s “Kettle of Fish”) will direct and produce the film. Brendan McDonald and Adam Silver will also produce.
Monaghan is currently filming “Boot Tracks” with Willem Dafoe and Stephen Dorff and has “Penthouse North” and “Better Living Through Chemistry” in the works.
