Michelle Williams is set to play legendary singer Peggy Lee for director Todd Haynes.
“Fever”, set up at MGM, boasts a producing committee that includes Reese Witherspoon and Marc Platt, with Grammy-winning artist Billie Eilish eyeing an executive producer role.
Witherpsoon was originally attached to headline the film when it was set up at Fox2000. In recent months, the project picked up momentum after Williams was drawn to the idea of playing Lee and a package was put together with MGM moving fast to be in pole position for the rights.
