Miller won’t direct Fury Road sequel

While a script for a sequel to “Mad Max Fury Road” has been written, and director George Miller has expressed interest in forging ahead with the franchise, seems he won’t be nominating himself to direct the pertolhead’s next jaunt around the dusty slopes.

Speaking to Page Six, Miller suggests he’ll only produce the next film in the series – “Fury Road” took too much of a toll on him.

“I’ve shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those ‘Mad Maxes’ take forever. I won’t do those anymore.”

In previous interviews Miller has hinted that the next film in the series would likely focus heavily on Charlize Theron’s Furiosa character.
