Comic fans and writers (!) have started flying the flag for actor Michael Jai White to play a superhero.
Firstly, screenwriter Ben Ramsey, in an interview with Scott’s Section, says the “Dark Knight” and “Spawn” star should play Luke Cage. Ramsey, who wrote a draft of the John Singleton incarnation of the film, thinks his “Blood & Bone” star is a much better choice than the guy Singleton originally had in mind.
“Luke Cage and Micheal Jai White. How much sense does that make? Not to put anything against Tyrese. Tyrese is a great actor too. Mike already looks like a superhero.”
True that!
Meanwhile, Michael Jai White himself says he would like to make a film based on the Marvel character “Black Panther”.
“If I had two hundred million I’d make like ten movies out of that (laughs). I would definitely make the Paul Robeson story. That would be my drama. I’d make Black Panther”, the actor, currently filming the “Mortal Kombat” web series, tells Scott Tre Blog. “I would do something with Black Panther that would make you forget about Batman. I guarantee you, if I got a chance to do Black Panther, everything would change. The genre would change.”
Which one is here better suited for? Cage? Panther? Both.. or none?
