Mindy Kaling & Emma Thompson to star in movie about a late-night talk show host

Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson are set to star in an untitled movie about a veteran late-night talk show host.

Kaling penned the script to the film which she will produce with Scott Rudin and Howard Klein.

According to Variety, the story follows a venerated late-night talk show host, played by Thompson, who’s in danger of losing her long-running show right when she hires her first female writer, played by Kaling. Sources describe the film as “The Devil Wears Prada” meets “Broadcast News.”
