Moviehole friend Danny Strong adapting final Hunger Games movie

It’s a joy spreading good news about good people, particularly those you’ve known personally for a long time.

Actor cum Writer Danny Strong snagged himself a longer stay at the big kids’ table today scoring the scripting job on Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games : Mockingjay” two-parter.

Danny, also recently hired to put pen to paper on the third “Da Vinci Code” flick (he’s gotten cosy with Mr Hanks over the past couple of years; lottery-ticket of an introduction there!), bet out a slew of big-time writers for the job, including Drew Goddard of “Cabin in the Woods” ‘acclaim’.

Having known Danny since my marketing days, I coudldn’t be prouder! He’s always been steadily employed – you’ll recall he had a recurring role on “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” (playing Jonathan) for years – but it wasn’t until he sold his “Game Change” script, in turn resulting in his anointment as the go-to guy for scripting politically-driven telemovies, that Dan really found his place in the industry. The job adaptating Suzanne Collins’ “Mockingjay” into a two big-time blockbuster movies solidifies his future and, I assure you Hunger Games fans, guarantees us a couple of very good movies; Danny writes character’s deep, profound and complex, his scripts are enthused with as much emotion as they are detail, and more so, having been involved “Buffy”, he knows ‘genre’.

The two “Hunger Games : Mockingjay” flicks roll out Nov. 21, 2014, and Nov. 20, 2015, respectively.
