Episode : The One with the Josh, not the Joss

Keen to know what else ‘that guy’ from ‘that show, which the title of escapes me’ has been in? Or need a link to buy “The Shiralee” on DVD? Need the Hebrew translation of what Tom and Katie’s new bub means? (Besides ‘More publicity’), or simply fancy a one-word answer (usually ‘dunno’) as to when “Indiana Jones 4” will hit theatres? Email Clint

Q. Hey there, I wanted to enter your competition you got going there regarding “Final Destination 3”. Just wondered if there’s a word limit, or am I free to ramble? Cheers, – Amanda
A. Sorry, we don’t allow rambling here – unless, of course, it’s coming from the editor. Then again, go for your life! Someone’s bound to read it.

Q.Hello, I have an “Alien 5” screenplay I’d like to share with you. A little bit about me: – I’m 30 years old; I’m a professional writer/translator, I used to write for Askmen.com (fitness, health, diet & travel articles), I wrote a book on restaurants in Montréal (in French) called Resto Cite. It was published by Quebecor Media, the biggest book publisher on the planet. And I’m quite possibly the biggest Aliens and Predator fan that ever lived.
Just felt like sharing my “Alien 5: Exodus” screenplay with you. To make a long story short, it looks like “AVP” will be the succeeding franchise to the Alien concept and there won’t be a need for another screenplay with Ripley in it, no matter who writes it. So instead of deleting the script, I’ve decided to give it away. Here’s a link to the screenplay: What do I hope to accomplish with this email? I have no clue. Maybe I want to create enough Internet buzz to get somebody’s attention. Or maybe that’s just my way of saying goodbye to a script that’s been in production for the last 6 years (on and off). I know there are still some fans of the franchise out there, so this is for them. Have fun!
– Sebastian
A. Fun? Fun to me is hiding a hidden camera into the church of scientology sauna room and watching the witty conversation unfold…not reading [more] screenplays, but never the less, I shall give it a read. Just one thing: I want 10%.

Q.So, do you think Paul Bettany will get the role of The Joker in the “Batman Begins” sequel? – Nico
A. No, I don’t actually. Batman-On-Film.com has a bit on this today actually, suggesting that Bettany may no longer be in the race – he’s played that ‘nasty’ a little too many times of late, it seems, and they want someone a little fresher. I still think Quentin Tarantino is being seriously overlooked.

Q.Any News on “Hulk 2”? I liked the first Hulk movie, yeah. I hated the Father Son premise of the movie, though. When is “Hulk 2” coming out? Will it be the same cast and crew? – Ryan
A. I can’t tell you when it’s coming out – a couple of business hurdles for it to jump first – but I can tell you that the villain is supposed to be, Abomination, a former Yugoslav spy, and former first mate on the starship Andromeda, whose transformed into a Hulk-like fiend himself. As for the original cast returning, Eric Bana is the only one pencilled in at the moment – but again, they’ll have to shoot it sometime soon, before his contract expires, if they want him. Apparently Jennifer Connelly won’t be returning for the next one, so there could be a new love interest for Brucie boy.

Q.The “Tintin” guy – Kirsten Myburgh – seems to have a website. After I googled his name a website came up – http://www.kirstenmyburgh.com . It has a pic of him, and it looks like he is a very good fit for the role of Spielberg’s Tintin. – Steve
A. I’m guessing the website is owned and operated by Myburgh’s publicity troupe?

Q.Hi, how are you? I am interested to audition for a Wonder Woman. I am 5’10 tall, 38-26-38. I am built very well with curvy figure. I am a college student. I would love to go to an audition but can you help me with the contact address. Where should I send my photos? I appreciate it. Have a nice day.
– Aleksandra
A. You can send your resume to SILVER PICTURES – 4000 c/o Warner Bros. 4000 Warner Blvd Burbank, CA 91522 – 91522 Burbank – CALIFORNIA – ETATS-UNIS – T : 1 818 954 60 00 – F : 1 818 954 64 88, but your photos can be sent directly to me. Lingerie shots welcome.

Q.What’s the latest with “Scream 4” and while were on it, is there any underground news saying if the new “Friday the 13th” is going to be a damn remake or not? Hopefully “Scream 4” is on, and it puts 3 out of my damn mind.
Thanks
– Festy
A. All I can tell you about “Scream 4” is that yes, it’s happening, and that yes, it will involve David Arquette, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Neve Campbell and possibly a baby Cox-Arquette. Wes Craven is not involved. Script being written as we speak. More on this later. As for your “Friday” query, no it’s not a remake; it’s going to tell of the younger years of the hockey-masked Villain – something we haven’t seen a lot of before. Can Kane Hodder play a 12-year-old?

Q.We have a new blitz happening this weekend, Just thought I would let you know. http://roswellmovie.net/ – Jodi
A. Keep fighting the good fight…Dido is a’waiting.

Q.Hey, keep up the good work on the site. Love the new section where you just do little blurbs about who’s signed on for what and about announcements and stuff. Good idea. Anyway I have a question for you. Not that I am going to see it or anything but, I thought, “Dr. Dolittle 3” was going to be released in theatres as apposed to being direct to DVD? I was at the Cinema last week and saw the poster for it, but Sunday in the newspaper it had promos for it saying it was coming to DVD Tomorrow. Any idea why?– Isaac
A. Originally, the film was set to go to theatres – and I believe it did actually did go to some – before it was quickly whisked to DVD. Most cinemas, however, didn’t end up screening it, so in this case, I’d say it’s just a matter of a lazy poster-boy who has neglected to take the poster down.

Q.Hey guys, Here’s some cheer, so spread it around the office. Is Paramount going to give us another Dirk Pitt with Matt McConaughey or what ? We’re getting a new “Tomb Raider” so what gives? – Robo1000
A. Um, why you ask? Angelina Jolie has bigger boobs than McConaughey?! OK, Paramount have tentative plans to do another Dirk Pitt adventure, and I’m guessing their plans may have stepped up a notch thanks to the mint McConaughey just made the studio with his latest pic, “Failure to Launch”, but again, pure speculation (all but the Jolie bust part) at this point.

Q.Hello Hello. Awesome “Various News Items”. Now when you say “Lord of the rings” is going to be in 3-D, does that mean in the theatres? Or is it still to new info to tell? – Nick
A. Yep, in theatres. The only difference between the new print and the old print will be Stuart Townsend, who has replaced Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn for the 3-D Version. Apparently he captured better in the crimson and cerulean colour mesh. (That’s a joke).

Q. I don’t know if its too late to respond for who we prefer to take on the role of “Wonder Woman”, but my choice is definitely Charisma Carpenter. – Bobby
A. Too late for Caffeinated Clint, never too late for Mailbag.

Q.Hi, I was wondering if perhaps there was any possibility of a “DragonBall Z” movie being made any time soon? – Lance
A. No, not since the question was asked last week (or the week before).

Q.Clint, Any word on a “True Lies : Special Edition”? That’s the only Cameron film not SE’d yet. And one of Arnie’s only one’s too! – AB King
A. AB, Bound to happen eventually, but no news yet – maybe they plan on releasing it with the sequel in 2089? (That’s a joke bro…nobody needs to make mock posters yet, stating “True Lies 2: Coming Summer 2089”).

Q.Hey Clint/Adam. I know this is not exactly movie related, but there is a tenuous connection. I saw recently that Bruce Campbell aka God, has written two books. “How to make love the Bruce Campbell way” and “If chins could kill, confessions of a B grade actor”. Now my dilemma is I cannot seem to find these books in Australia. Can you help out or will I be forced to give into Amazon?
Oh and just to add a bit more movie talk to the question. What is our favourite Chainsaw wielding hero up to at the moment?
– Matt
A. You’ll probably be best served by going to Amazon, actually, mainly for price reasons. However, if you’re in Melbourne – or know anyone here – you can stop by Minotaur, in Elizabeth Street in the City, and pick up the books. Or check out their website here.
Campbell will next be seen in Lucky McGee’s “The Woods”, then a telemovie called “Touch the Top of the World”, about the first blind man ever to reach the top of Mount Everest, and last, but not least, “My name is Bruce”, a comedy in which he’s mistaken for his alter-ego from the “Evil Dead” films. That one is sure to be a blast!

Q.Any word on what’s going on with “Rush Hour 4”? – Martin
A. Yeah, apparently they’re doing “Rush Hour 3” first.

Q. My choice would most definitely have to be Charisma Carpenter. Look at her! She has the looks, perfect body, acting skills, and everything about Princess Diana. – Kerry
A. Sorry, you’re too late. We finished all that about three questions ago.

Q.”Batman Begins” (spoiler warning/question). So does this mean Rachel Dawes will be killed off in “Batman 2”? That’s a total bummer because its so predictable she dies in the hands of the Joker. There’s no continuity too and it’s tiresome to see Batman get different bimbos for each movie. That’s why I like Katie Holmes to come back because I really enjoyed her performance and for once we have a real heroine who is not a sex decor in a Bat-film and Bruce and Rachel also have a believable depthful romance going on. – Julie
A. Much of what thou wrote beith trueth. Suri’s mamma will be present in the sequel, that’s all I’ll say.

Q.Hi, Here is my vote for the next Wonder Woman and her name is Nadia Bjorlin. And I also think that Lynda Carter should star as the Queen of Paradise Island. Also, PLEASE tell Josh that he needs to stick to the original story of WW – especial her origin – Kevin
A. Sorry, all late voters will be fined. Oh, and I’ll pass on your comments to Josh…. and maybe, if I get time, ‘Joss’ too.

Q.What is “Snakes on a Plane” actually about? – Paul
A. An all-male revue flying international…..I hear.

Q.The season finale of “Smallville” titled “Vessel” airs in the U.S. on May 11th.Warner Bros. first big summer film, “Poseidon” comes out the next day on May 12th.What are the odds that the second trailer for “Superman Returns” will premiere during the season finale of “Smallville” that Thursday night, and then be attached to Poseidon the next day? – Nila2
A. I’d say they’re good odds.

Q.Yes I pick Jessy Biel, for “Wonder Woman”, I saw her in a bikini – she looked nice in it! I forgot the name of the movie, but she can fill that wonder woman outfit out. mmmmmmmm yes – KATO
A. Helping the Kleenex shares rise, hey?

Q.We are interested in purchasing the movie “Atomic Twister” – The Meye House
A. Didn’t we answer this one last week?

Q.Hey, the site rocks. I was wondering if there was any chance the show “Reunion “would come back in any form whether it be on DVD, a book, or a film. I really miss this show and hope it comes back. Thanks. – Mike
A. A DVD is possible….but then, who wants to shell out for a series with no ending? It’d be like watching the first season of “Veronica Mars” on Australian TV, only to have it yanked before we could find out who the killer is…..Hmm.

Q.Christa Anderson in “Wonder Woman”? Last week while I was chatting with James Michaelson at a downtown coffee shop, we some how got to the subject of Wonder Woman. Being a close friend to Joss Whedon, the director of Wonder Woman, James told me that Whedon had mentioned a girls name. Joss was interested in getting Christa Anderson to play the top role of Wonder Woman. Yes, THAT Christa Anderson. She has the Amazon look, but acting? Has Whedon gone nuts? Christa Anderson has only been in a few TV episodes and four movies of which were any thing but a success. The girl can’t even act! – Scooper
A. I’m sorry, our pals at JoBlo.com have already stated who has won the role of “Wonder Woman” – it’s Kate Beckinsale. (That one’s going out to our sloppy news-reporting friends who don’t know their April Fools jokes to their underoo strings, all I can say is…. suckers!). Thanks for the titbit.

Q.I read something on your site, that eluded to Ian McShane being a dick, just curious if that was true? – me
A. We never said that. We simply hinted to the fact that he’s far from a pussycat – Other than that, top actor and apparently, a nice bloke. Hey, and didn’t I tell you to stop using ‘me’ as your name?! I’m going crazy enough as it is…. you don’t speed it up!

Q.Hi, It is unfortunate that the Palladino’s won’t be on board next season for “Gilmore Girls”, but I am not worried. Sure the show came from them, but they didn’t write every episode. I believe the show has more than capable writers who have been writing for the show these last number of seasons and will continue to make a great show. I have faith in the girls, and I am sure it will still be the great show it has always been. – Barry
A. Barry, good point. Glad to see you’re still head over production over there at the WB.

Q.I feel Jessica Biel is the best choice to play Wonder Woman. She’s sexy, smart, a great actress and is no stranger to action movies. I’ve gone around my neighbourhood and asked whom the part is right for and most of them said Jessica Biel and the others had a diverse response. I just feel Wonder Woman should be beautiful and strong – whose better for the part than Jessica Biel? – NYCPlay
A. Wait, you went around your neighbourhood asking who is right for the part? And actually opened the door and answered?

Q.This Web site is awseme. – Noel
A. No, you’re awseme. Maybe even ‘awesome’ too.

Q.Hi Clint, Love the site. I’m just wondering if you could help me out with a TV question… I enjoyed watching “Chicago Hope” on FOX8, here in Australia, but they took it off at the end of season 5 – just one season shy of the final batch of episodes (finished in season 6). It’s been a huge topic of the CH fanboards….and we’ve all got our fingers crossed that FOX8 does show that final season one day….do you know why it hasn’t? Or when it will screen? It’s been over twelve months now….we’re very sad…. Thanks for your time. – Patricia
A. We’re all missing out Geiger-dose, believe me. Here’s the official response from FOX8 : “Unfortunately FOX8 never licensed series 6 of Chicago Hope. Series 1 through 5 are now out of licence and we have no plans to renew them or acquire series 6 at the present time.” Sorry!

Q.Hi Clint. I know that you’re a journalist full-time – I have seen your stuff in several newspapers and magazines – so just wondering, when do you do the website? – Craig
A. Between the entrée and the main meal usually…or when my editor’s say “Ok Clint, that’s enough on the Paris Hilton diet secrets story…. take fifteen”.

American Pie bakes up a fifth!

Joker contenders for Batman sequel, revealed?
