Murray and Aykroyd together again!

Two comic greats, and fellow “Ghostbusters” co-stars, are reuniting – and not just so one of them can give the birdie to the other’s proposal for a new sequel in their best-known collaboration.

According to Geeks Worldwide, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are said to be both on the call sheet for Ruben Fleischer’s “Zombieland” sequel.

Murray had appeared in the original coffin dodger comedy, playing himself. He’ll be back performing that tough gig again, alongside Aykroyd – who’ll also be playing someone familiar to him, a chubby, vodka salesman who gets our hopes up every six months with unsolidified chatter of a new “Ghostbusters” featuring the original crew. Like Murray’s gig, it’ll be a real departure for Aykroyd.

Sony haven’t released a synopsis for the film but online scuttlebutt says it’ll be set ten years later with the zombie-splatting troupe back to take down a new breed of super zombie. Enter cameos by Murray and Aykroyd as super ‘funny’ zombies. Or something.

In all seriousness, the long-gestating “Zombieland 2” is shaping up to a cracker – if only because all of the original players are back… on both sides of the camera. Fleischer (“Venom”) is again directing, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are scripting, and Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin, will be back. Netflix-staple Zoey Deutch has also reportedly joined the cast in an unspecified role.

The “Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters II” co-stars also both appeared – albeit in separate scenes – in the Paul Feig-directed reboot. We wish they bloody hadn’t have. That hurt us – the audience and the actors – just as much. Like electric shock therapy for the lobes with adjoining wires between us all.

“Zombieland 2” releases in October.
