Nanny Diaries the TV show?

“The Nanny Diaries” is coming to a TV near you. Not as a repeat of the 2007 film starring Scarlett Johansson, Laura Linney and Chris Evans, but as a TV series for ABC.

Deadline says TV everyman Ryan Seacrest is attached as EP, and “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will write.

The show will be based around the film, which was in turn based around a book written in 2002 by former nannies Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, who were disgruntled with their treatment and the lives of the wealthy women whose children to which they were surrogate parents.
“Nanny Diaries” will be the Weinstein Company’s first step into television, but I guess considering they also were behind the movie the apple’s not falling too far from the tree.
I really liked the movie, against all my preconceived ideas that it would be terrible. Do you think the show will be the same?
