New roles for ladies Paltrow, Adams, Szohr

A couple of Hollywood’s leading ladies will be getting their shopping faces on this weekend, what with their newly-employed status.

Gwyneth Paltrow is in negotiations to topline the indie film “Blood, Bones & Butter”, based on Gabrielle Hamilton’s 2011 book. ‘The book chronicles Hamilton’s unconventional background — she is the youngest of five siblings born to a French mother and an artist father who made the sets for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus — as well as her unorthodox trajectory to becoming a chef”, says THR. Paltrow, the trade reminds us, is a bit of a cook on the side, she’s also published her own book of recipes. Perfect casting, then.

Our friend Amy Adams has agreed to work with David O.Russell (“The Fighter”) again on “American Bullshit”, the corrupt-politicians drama starring Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner. Renner steps in for Christian Bale, originally set to play the role of a fed who is forced to team up with a con-artist to take down some shonky politicos. Adams would play the co-conspirator and mistress of Renner’s character, says THR.

According to Deadline, Young gun Jessica Szohr, formerly of “Gossip Girl”, will front up for “Ten Cent Pistol”, the crime drama starring Jena Malone, Adam Arkin and Joe Mantegna about two brothers whose venture into crime spirals out of control. The actress is also onboard “The Internship”, the comedy that reunites “Wedding Crashers” twosome Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson.
