Despite rumours earlier this month that they were going to essentially toss out their plans for the “Spider-Man” franchise, Sony has announced release dates for not only the third film in the series but the long-proposed spin-off “The Sinister Six”.
According to Variety, fans of the series are going to have a wait a little bit longer for “The Amazing Spider-Man 4” than originally thought. Though penciled-in initially for a 2016 release, the Andrew Garfield-starrer now won’t bow until 2018. But to make up for the wait fans have ahead of them, Sony has slotted “The Sinister Six” – a film fixing around the villains that terrorize Spidey- for November 11, 2016.
No doubt we’ll hear more on Sony’s future “Spider-Man” plans at Comic-Con this weekend.
