Universal is developing “Ouija 2” and has slated the pic for release on October 21, 2016.
Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will produce the sequel with Jason Blum (Blumhouse Productions), Stephen Davis and Brian Goldner (Hasbro).
Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard are writing the screenplay.
The first film, “Ouija”, was released in 2014 and starred Douglas Smith, Olivia Cooke, Daren Kagasoff, Ana Coto and Bianca Santos. It followed a group of unsuspecting friends who were forced to confront their most terrifying fears when they unleashed an evil from the other side that only they could send back.
“Ouija 2” will open against Gerard Butler starer “Geostorm”.
