Paul Walker Needs More Hours

Finally…a movie not related to the “Fast and Furious” franchise that’ll star Paul Walker… and that I might be interested in seeing. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting (as they tend to do; we do love ’em there because they, unlike some other trades, credit us for scoops we break first) that Walker is set to star in “Hours”, a post-Hurricane Katrina thriller that’ll be directed by screenwriter Eric Heisserer, marking his directorial debut and who also wrote the upcoming “The Thing” film out October 14.

“Hours” will tell the tale of about a young father (Walker) and his fight to keep his newborn daughter alive in an abandoned New Orleans hospital in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The film will shoot on location in and around New Orleans when it begins filming in March of 2012.

Heisserer’s other writing credits include “Final Destination 5” and co-wrote 2010’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street”.
