Pet Sematary remake eyes Jason Clarke

The newest adaptation of 80s Stephen King classic “Pet Sematary” with Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch at the helm is in talks with Jason Clarke for a role. Clarke, who is currently starring in “Chappaquiddick” as Ted Kennedy, will play the doctor – originally playing by Dale Midkiff in the 1989 adaptation.

“Pet Sematary”, first published in 1983 by King, told of a doctor who moves his family out of the big city to the country. There he discovers that they have moved near a pet cemetery that rests on an ancient burial ground, and when his toddler son is killed in an auto accident, he takes the boy’s body to the cemetery, where it is resurrected in demonic form.

Jeff Buhler wrote the most recent draft of the adaptation, and the producers will be Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and Steven Schneider. News via The Hollywood Reporter.
