Peter Berg says Hancock 2 still happening

Look up ‘projects-in-development’ on wikipedia, and it’s possible you’ll find a picture of filmmaker Peter Berg there. Never one to shy away from trying to push a million projects up hill at once, the actor cum filmmaker – whose latest, “Battleship”, is one of the big summer releases – never seems to have any less than half-a-dozen films on his to-do list at any time. His latest claim? He’s doing a “Hancock” sequel – though it may be news to financier, Sony.

“We’ve been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva goldman and myself”, director Berg tells Comic Book Movie. “We’re all interested, but we literally just have trouble getting into the same room at the same time. We did have a series of meetings last year and started to hash out an idea for sequel — and Will Smith actually had the idea — so I think it will happen, it’s just a question of timing.”

Considering Will Smith is also wanted for sequels to “Bad Boys” and “Independence Day”, I don’t know that another “Hancock” will be able to push in front of the line. I know which sequel of the Fresh Prince’s I’d rather see more, and it’s not the one where he plays a homeless man who flies.
