Predator Vs Tamara Drewe Vs Hawkeye!

A while back Moviehole’s overworked and currently snoozing webmaster reported on the plot and character of “Hansel & Gretel : Witch Hunters 3D”, director Tommy Wirkola’s semi-sequel to the classic fairytale with Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner playing older versions of the breadcrumb-dropping kids. I notice the page that featured all the juicy details on the film has now been removed (assume Clint got one of those cease and desists he loves so much) but let me tell you, it sounded like the film is going to be a lot of fun.

I dug up the introduction to the piece in the cache; it begins “For those that don’t want to read any spoilers, but would like somewhat of a synopsis, “Hansel & Gretel : Witch Hunters” goes a bit like this : Hansel & Gretel hear there’s been quite a few witch sightings in – largely the forests of – their home town of Augsburg, so head back there to hunt and, if necessary, kill whatever they can spot.

Augsburg, it seems, burned at the stake many, many witches in it’s time – some of whom never confessed or were never proven to be anything other than local townspeople. Upon arrival, Hansel & Gretel catch the town sheriff trying to execute another potentially innocent woman.

With guide Jackson (who knows the woods better than anyone, naturally), our skilled hunters stalk the forests of Augsburg in search of kid-nabbing witches, led by the evil Muriel.”

Famke Janssen is playing Muriel and Peter Stormare is playing the crooked town sheriff, he reported.

Bloody Disgusting have two more names for us today – and again, the original news item Clint ran has been removed so I can’t glance back at it and take a guess at which characters these two are playing – Derek Mears (Jason in “Friday the 13th”, the Predator in “Predators”) and Thomas Mann (“The Middle”). Guessing the big, tall Derek Mears is playing some sort of monster or intimidating troll figure. The other though? Well, I remember something about a young boy, obsessed with Hansel & Gretel’s slayings, who ends up assisting the duo in their mission… maybe that’s Mann? Seems he’s quite young, according to this picture.
