DEL TORO AND JIM MAKE A DATE
Guillermo del Toro’s “At the Mountains of Madness” will likely film June 2011. James Cameron is a producer on the project, but from the sounds of it he’s pretty involved. del Toro tells The Los Angeles Times, “In his subtle style he said to me, ‘I have a few notes, but I have one fatal flaw [that I see in the script].’ He pointed out one thing that was big. I’ve been thinking about this for 35 years, and he pointed out something I’d never seen.”
FINALLY! BOB’S GOING TO SING!
“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in talks to direct Disney’s “Bob the Musical”, which “follows a regular guy who, after a blow to the head, suddenly can hear the inner songs of everyone’s hearts as his reality is instantly turned into a musical, much to his dismay. We’ve so much love for “Back to the Future”, but there’s so many other terrific time-travel movies out there that aren’t nearly as treasured – and it should be. “Somewhere in Time”, though slightly daggier than Robert Zemeckis’ fabbo adventure, is a delightful little ‘trip back’ starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. If you’re planning on having a ‘time travel’ themed video night sometime, you must add this to your line-up (and, for that matter, “Time After Time”).
